There are several ways you can renew your items.

Remember that some items are not renewable or have a limited number of possible renewals. Also, if the item is on reserve for another patron, you will not be able to renew it.

  • In person - You can talk with any staff member at any of our branches to renew your items.
  • Call us - You can call the library at 406-449-1690 during our open hours and speak with someone in public services.  You cannot leave a message for renewals, you must speak with someone.
  • Self check - You may use one of the self checks at the main branch to renew. Simply scan your library card at the self check and choose 'my account' to view your items.
  • Online - To renew online, click on this link to open the catalog page, type in your library card number and your PIN.  Once you are logged in, you can see a list of all the items that are renewable.
  • Mobile App - You can use our mobile app to renew your items.  Click on this link to go to the page to help you install the app and use it.
  • Text Message - We have a service called ShoutBomb that will text you when you books are due and allow you to respond back to renew them.  Click on this link to get started using ShoutBomb.
